Super Bowl XLII - Giants Upset Patriots

The heavily favored New England Patriots fell victim to the biggest upset in Super Bowl history when the New York Giants defeated them 17-14.

Super Bowl MVP Eli Manning
elevated his game to Peyton's level to create the game-winning drive that put the Giants up by a field goal. The Patriots had 35 seconds to tie or win and didn't get either.

Sports historians will now argue whether the Giants win this year or the New York Jets in Super Bowl III will be marked as the biggest Super Bowl Upset ever. We argue that the 10-6 regular-season Giants meeting the 16-0 Patriots should be heavily considered for the title.

What's more important, the undefeated New England Patriots couldn't win the big game to close out the perfect season. In a year that began and ended with allegations of Head Coach Bill Bilichick cheating, the New England Patriots went through the regular season and playoffs undefeated. Only the '72 Miami Dolphins have made it through the entire season without a loss and it looks like that record will still hold true.
